Collage animation

Image
I created this collage animation by using images I found online and putting and moving them around in Photoshop. I then put these all through Premiere Pro. As a point of inspiration, I looked at the animations found in Monty Python and wanted to create something strange like them. This  is an example. They use a variety of photos that aren't their own, which is how I translated this into using images I found online.  Storyboard

Stop Motion 2

I created an ident this time once I had a better grasp of making stop motion. It was the same process as the first. It was difficult to make sure everything stays in place on the second half of this one, as if it didn't the movement wouldn't look smooth. I used Photoshop to alter about 3 of the frames here, which was at the point a character flips over the bricks. This wouldn't be possible naturally, so I moved the figure off the set as the bricks moved and added it back in in Photoshop after cutting it from a previous frame. I was worried the animation wouldn't look smooth since this was only about 3 frames,so I decided to use the brush tool to create a sort of blur to convey quick movement of the figure in each frame.

This is a stop motion animation I created using lego. To get a general feel for this type of animation,I tried to do something easier and more general than an ident. I took photos on my phone after moving the figures, and then put them into Premiere Pro at a fast speed to create the illusion of animation. I also added music to this and tried to experiment with the music fitting the mood of the scenes. It could be a little difficult at times to put the lego figure back in the exact spot after moving it, I had to count the studs from the background as a way to keep track. Storyboard

2D Hand Drawn Animation

This is a 2D animation that I made using Adobe Animate (Flash). I used a graphics tablet to draw each frame, and then I added music and sound effects onto it in Premiere Pro. Its a very long and repetitive process but one that's worth it when you see everything come together. When I was drawing I didn't notice how much I strayed from the onion skin layer (which is a translucent image of the previous frame so you can keep your drawings consistent) until I watched through. I looked through and readjusted my frames multiple times to make it look as it does now. The lines would visibly change shape, which would make the drawing wider and that really bothered me.
