2D Hand Drawn Animation 2


 I made another animation using Flash, which meant I was drawing again using a graphics tablet. This time though I had the benefit of a few things staying in place, so I could draw a frame and be able to just extend the length of it. There were so many layers though for this because of how many pieces needed to move or stay in place. For example the slot machine stayed the same, but I created a separate layer for the handle since that had to move on its own. I also created separate layers for the slots, as it saved time to not have to redraw or copy two stationary slots every time I moved the third. It was a little difficult to time the sound effects correctly as the rolling of each slot had to start at the same time but end at different ones and sound natural without cutting the audio out.

Hand Drawn+video animation

 I used a mix of hand drawn animation in Flash and a video. I did this simply because I thought it'd be an interesting idea to experiment with. I recorded the first video, then took pictures of my arm moving slightly, then recorded again, took pictures and then animated in Flash. I drew over the pictures in Flash and put everything together into Premier Pro to form the whole animation. Storyboard

Collage Animation 2

This was also made in Photoshop and sequenced in Premiere Pro like the other collage animation. I based this off of a  a scene from a show /manga. I used isolated audio from the show and used some images from both the original manga and the show. A large aspect of this animation I think was the sound design. There was a lot more going on than usual as I had music and sound effects,which were layered. They made everything more effective in my opinion. I segmented parts of some of the images to create this, for example I had to separate the arms from the body and then move them myself to create the punching. I also cut the zip out from a separate image of the character used, and copied it multiple times to create the shape of the 7. Storyboard
